Eavesway Travel's drivers who have either been with us for many years or have many years previous coach driving experience are trained to the highest standards not only to satisfy the requirements of The Traffic Commissioners but those of VOSA (Vehicle Operators and Standards Agency) who monitor and enforce maintenance standards and drivers hours compliance on behalf of The Government.
They are all trained to the required standard and are holders of the newly introduced driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) Qualification which is a EU (European Union) legal requirement due to come into force in September 2013. Drivers without this qualification will have their PCV Licence suspended after this date until they obtain the qualification. Once having gained this qualification, drivers have to take regular refresher courses to retain it. The syllabus for this qualification includes subjects such as Drivers Hours Rules & Regulations, Alcohol & Drugs Awareness, Dealing with Emergencies, Effects of Sleep Deprivation, Manual Handling and PCV Regulations.
Our drivers also undertake further regular training in matters not concerned with the above qualification such as Defensive Driving, First Aid at Work and Customer Care courses.
